What percentage of uniqueness should we be shooting for in the my templates section?

Google sees anything over about 35% as unique (or at least doesn't filter it as a duplicate), so definitely aim for at least that.

The more the better, of course, and some power spinners say you should do 60% or better.

Thanks Jon,

Will do.

I love IAF and the supplied templates are great.  And if people have TBS, then using the two applications in conjunction is very powerful.  I am heavily in one particular niche with it's own unique filler language and a definite sequence for articles.  By spending some time building your own template the articles can get extremely focused.

Jon,

Thanks for that answer.

And how that 35% is measured? Or how should we reckon that uniqueness? By string length? What length is okay or safe or adequate?

Could you throw some light?

Regards
SNM

I'm not sure to what kinds of templates you are referring, but does the 35% rule applies for spun articles too?

If you create your own templates for Instant Article Factory and only use them for yourself, then no % uniqueness is required. If you create one that you are willing to share with other users, then it has to have at least 33% spun content. The 35% refers to whether Google sees two articles as being "nearly" identical.
